1. Grimm Brothers Brewhouse

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse started in July 2010 and is the oldest brewery in Loveland. They specialize in German-inspired beers both traditional and historical styles.  Their beers are named and inspired by the famous German writers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm.  With over 250 stories they pride themselves on telling you not only a fairy tale but also a story about a beer.  Some of their most popular brews are their Little Red Cap, a 6.3% German Red Ale, and the Fearless Youth, a 5.2% full-bodied Munich Dunkel.

2. Funkwerks

Funkwerks, located in Fort Collins, first opened its doors in December 2010. They are a Saison-focused brewery that produces refreshing, crisp beers.  Saisons are known for having a dry profile and complex fruity aromas and are brewed year-round and generally have a higher alcohol percentage than their historic counterparts.

Although Funkwerks focuses specifically on Saisons, plenty of room is left to experiment with a range of Belgian styles, barrel-aged small batches, and sour beers. One of their best beers is their Tropic King, an 8% hoppier version of their flagship Saison, with notes of passion fruit, mango, peach, ginger, and pepper.

Loveland Aleworks is an independent, family-owned brewery offering a selection of small batch handcrafted beers. They are passionate about brewing ales that they, and their customers, believe in — quality ales, made well, using the best ingredients. A simple combination. They don’t limit themselves to brewing a certain style of ale, but rather brew what they like. And they’re sure to share the rewards.

Pouring anything from a 5.4% Hefeweisen with hints of banana and clove, a 7.8% IPA with caramel and pine notes, to a whopping 10.7% Imperial Stout that focuses in on coffee and chocolate aromas.

4. Crabtree Brewing Company

Crabtree Brewing first opened its doors in May 2006.  Now twelve years later, Jeff Crabtree makes some of the most uniquely blended and flavorful beers that you can find east of I-25. Their taproom is just barely hidden off of highway 34 when you get into Greeley. Once you arrive you’ll see their beautiful beer garden with outdoor seating, a firepit, and cornhole boards to ensure a good time (weather-permitting.) There is plenty of room inside as well, with a nook dedicated to playing board games and hanging out.

Some of the more popular beers include their Dearfield Ale, a 5% Strawberry Blonde Ale that is light and refreshing with a touch of real strawberries, and their West Coast Style IPA, a 6.5% IPA with aromatics of tropical fruits and grapefruit. For a little kick, go ahead and try their Peach Habanero or Pipe Smoker – you won’t be disappointed.
